With over three-quarters of a million residents, Monroe County is located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario. The county is the home of a number of colleges and universities, major interstates including the New York State Thruway, I-390, I-490, I-590 and the Lake Ontario State Parkway. Felony prosecutions are handled in the Hall of Justice in the county seat of Rochester, New York. The Monroe County District Attorney’s office prosecutes criminal and vehicle and traffic offenses.
